The exhibition opening and a meet-and-greet with the poster artist, Babak Safari, will take place on Tuesday, May 19, at 5:00 p.m.

This exhibition presents a selected body of poster works by Babak Safari, spanning theatre, music, social issues, cultural events, and rare disease narratives. Bringing together works from different periods and contexts, the exhibition reflects his multidisciplinary understanding of poster design as both a communicative medium and an artistic practice. Safari’s visual language is deeply rooted in the structure of Iranian art and culture. His works draw inspiration from traditional composition, symbolic color systems, collective memory, and nostalgia, reinterpreting elements of Iranian visual identity within a contemporary graphic design framework. Across different themes and subjects, these posters explore the emotional, cultural, and social dimensions of visual communication, creating a dialogue between heritage and modernity, personal memory and collective experience. Special thanks to Dydo Poster Gallery for hosting and supporting this exhibition.

Babak Safari is an Iranian graphic designer, art director, educator, and curator with over fifteen years of international experience in visual communication. His practice bridges traditional Iranian art and contemporary design, exploring cultural heritage, biomimicry, and the intersection of art and science. Over the years, he has collaborated on international projects and presented his work in exhibitions, festivals, and biennials across Europe and beyond, developing a multidisciplinary approach that combines visual experimentation with social engagement. Alongside his professional practice, Babak is currently pursuing his PhD at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, where his research focuses on innovative visual methodologies for representing rare diseases. Through both academic research and artistic practice, he investigates how design can transform medical and emotional narratives into visual experiences that raise awareness, foster empathy, and create dialogue between science, art, and society.
